Artist analysisLynette Millers work explores alternative ways of doing landscape pictures. Her work innovative ways of creating and conceptualizing photography.
These images are as through she is trying to piece a landscape image together, by using shapes such as squares, rectangles and circles. Her work is very experimental, working with different spaces of different sizes. She mainly uses colour to create her photos, with a white background. She uses repetition of spaces, as she will use more than one. Also, the repetition of lines, which will often be behind the spaces. the lighting of theses images tend to be bright. She also adds shadows to the images, which makes them look like they are lifted. The picture at the top left, is taken of a running lake with rocks and trees around it. I think this picture would of been done on photoshop, using layers which would allow her to fix the shapes in which ever position she liked. Behind the shapes in the background, I can see that she has also put shapes in the background, which creates a sort of mathematics feel to it. This can be said in some of her other work, where she puts grids in the background. The shapes fit together perfectly and you are still able to make out what the picture is. The mood of this image tends to feel relaxed and at peace, this may be due to the texture being quite smooth and soft, everything fits together well. To take these pictures, I think she would of used a digital camera and then edited them on photoshop. However, she could of done it manually, by cutting and sticking, which I am going to experiment with to see which version turns out better. Lynette Miller focuses just on landscape images and doesn't bring it any portraits in her work, these images tend to be the sea or lakes. |
My Edits-
Development
For the development of Lynette Miller's work, I have chosen to take pictures of landscapes, which have man made aspects in them. This could include some sort of signs or buildings. This is connected to Lynette Miller's work as they both explore both the work of mother nature and man made aspects.

What worked well...
- I think that my photos worked well as they give off a mathematic aspect like Lynette Miller's do.
- I also think that my development works well, as you can clearly notice the man made aspects in the photographs, which I wanted.
- I think to make my images better, I could of put grids at the back of my images to give off a more mathematic vibe, which I think would of looked better and fitted in with Lynette Miller's work.
